*waaaah! daydreaming yung una kong nasulat kahit gabi na... basta! gumagawa ako ng pang-wallpaper na puro pics ni Champ, walang parehas... hehe, adiktus ba? peace tayo Halers! tsaka sa mga may crush/love/like kay Champ and sa band... wootwoo!!! peace ulet!

sa wakas eto na ang matagal ko nang gustong i-post... ang MAYRIC'S GIG last June 8, 2005

ay josko! i think you would not totally experience the fun and excitement hale brings until you see them perform live! that's what i thought when i saw them perform at mayric's last june 8. they were the last of the five bands who performed that same night. [Rampqueen, Spongecola, Ciudad, Chicosci, Hale] although not everyone had a good place inside, i think almost all enjoyed that super gig!

rewind: that was a wednesday, and first meeting namin ng OT 140 class namin, i wasn't able to attend our class in the morning kasi i performed with the UPM Indayog for the DPSM orientation sa CAS [i think UP students wud fully understand what those acronyms are]. we still have the afternoon class for the same subject kaya dun na ako nagpakita...[note:the continuation ng morning class ung sa hapon.] after ng klas na maagang dinismiss, nagkasama-sama na kami nina bei at fia... the ever-so-tatag-na-halers-ng-OTBlock20! haha! dala pa ni fia ang bagahe nia para sa apartment nila... tapos dala ku naman ung jacket na ginamit ko sa sayaw [btw, BURN ung sinayaw namin...astig!]

Nag-stay kami nina fia sa apartment nila, tapos pinuntahan namin si Lilibeth (ung klasmeyt nina Bei and Fia sa Socsci), pero past 6pm, umalis ako kasi magmi-meet naman kami nina cuz shie, cuz knoll at bro pauwy sa sm manila dahil sila ang 'gigbuds' ko for that event... eion! nagpapicture naman kami bago pumunta ng mayric's.


The night at Mayric's would start at around 10pm, but as early as 9pm, wala nang seats! goshness! buti na lang nagtiyaga kami and we were able to have seats for the four of us, may kasama pang table yan. so yun! to trim things short, nagperform na yung rampqueen, tapos katabi ng table namin ung pwesto ni ate chona. Basta yun! Kewl din ung performance ng Rampqueen, and cutie rin ung vocalist nila, wehehehehe...


Before maisalang ang Spongecola sa stage, dumadaan na si Chris at si Yael... Maya-maya, nagpa-sign ako ng meg mag ko na merong pic nia, "dyahe" daw pag lumalabas siya sa mga ganun... Just the same, he signed the mag and even put a halo on his head, kulet! Then I asked Yael if he cud have a pic with my cuz knoll, actually they looked cute sa pic na un!

By the time Spongecola's on the stage, i heard from bei na baka nasa labas na ang Hale. Mainit sa loob ng mayric's kaya i decided to go out, and eventually meet the guys! Nakita ko si Champ, and nginitian niya ako tapos sabi niya, "oi, kamusta?!" sabi ko ok lang then sabi ko ako yung sa Awit Awards... Tapos una naming nilapitan si Kuya Omnie... ang bait nia, even asked me what happened with my lips [may singaw kasi aku nun...], after i asked for his number he told me na pag magtetext ako, sabihin ko ako ung may (then he points at his lips, hehe). tinanong ko si Kuya Om if may sakit pa sila, sabi nia oo, kaya kailangan niya ng pacing [mahirap naman para sa isang drummer na basta na lang sumabak dun nang may sakit diba? Then nung kay Champ ulet, we shook hands with him tapos sabi nia "i'm champ", until pati kay kuya Om nakipaagkamay siya at inintroduce ang sarili... coolet! We asked if we could take pictures with him, ok lang naman daw so un! cute talaga niya... I told him I'm on the process of writing a poem for them pero sabi ko sa SM manila ko nln ibibigay kasi nga, di pa tapos. [posted na rin ung tula dito sa blog]. Ok lang daw sabi niya... bait diba?! nasabi ko rin kay Kuya Champ na bumili ako ng June 2005 ish ng Meg, sabi niya, "bakit kayo bumibili nun?!" wahahaha! parang nahihiya siya by the way he looked at that very moment... cute pa rin!

Nung kay kuya Sheldon naman, sabi namin kami yung nasa awit awards... tapos hiningi rin namin number niya.. bigay naman...syempre pa-sign din sa album... tapos nakita naman namin si kuya roll, sabi ko, "balita ko may sakit daw kayo ni kuya Omnie?" oo naman daw... tsk3... masyado na kasing in-demand kaya sunod-sunod ang gigs nila... tinanong ko ulet kung kakantahin nia yung here tonight na fave ni fia at ngumiti siya, telling us yes... so iyon!

Nakita ko rin si Armo ng SC kaya nagpa-sign na rin ako. "Madalas kayo sa LS ah!", "mababait kasi tao dun"... un ang naging dialogue namin. bait naman sila e! ganda pa ng hair niya!

sa loob, nang ako'y magbalik, nakita naman namin si Ebe Dancel ng Sugarfree! nagpa-pic din kami dun at nagpa-autograph ako... hehe.. bait nia.. nung una nag-hesitate pa ako kasi wala siyang glasses nun at di ko siya agad namukhaan... eniweis Nakapagperform na rin ang Ciudad nun... next yung sa Chicosci... cute ni Mong! haha! di ako familiar sa songs nila but if I'm not mistaken, Paris yung last song nila... before hale performed, pumasok si kuya Champ tapos tinawag ko siya, pina-sign ko yung pic nia sa meg tapos parang nahihiya siya na parang ewan! basta ang cute! kinuhaan pa kami ng pic ng aking ever-so-bait na cuz knoll...

What everyone [i think] has been waiting for that night e yung part ng Hale... sobrang ang energetic to the highest level na yung mga tao dun, even the band itself. ang dami ng songs na tinugtog nila: Runaway, Broken Sonnet, The Day You Said Goonight, Wishing, Take No, Blue Sky, Kung Wala Ka... Sabi pa nga ni Champ dun sa chorus part ng Kung wala ka, "ooh, ayoko nang mag-sorry", sabay special mention kay Ebe! woohoo! tapos ang lufet ni kuya Roll dun sa Take No... si Kuya Sheldon naman na-special mention rin ni kuya Champ! at syempre lufetness pa rin ng drum parts dahil kay OMG Omnie! partida they are all not feeling well! Thank you to the max pa si Kuya Champ dahil nun lang daw nila na-experience ang ganung kadaming tao sa gig nila! If you could just see kung gano nga naman kadaming tao sa Mayric's, kahit hagdan may laman, abot pa sa may pintuan!

Unfortunately for those who anticipated Here Tonight, di na nakanta ni Kuya Roll yun dahil nga hindi maganda ang pakiramdam nia... pero minahal pa rin ng taongbayan ang banda... lufet kasi e...

Sobrang memorable ng event na yon... I was able to have my CD signed, get to take pictures with champ, i got their numbers and had the chance of talking to these humble people! What a wonderful experience talaga! To tell you the truth, hindi ako pinayagan until naisip kong isama sina ate knoll, pauwy and ate shie... dapat kasi mago-overnight ako sa apartment ni fia kaso di pumayag yung dad ko sa idea na yun... Pero dahil nagpumilit ako, natupad ang plan ko na makapunta ng Mayric's at makita in person ang Hale...

**I made this poem especially for the band 18June2005... Fortunate enough, I was able to give each one of them a copy of my poem when I went to SM Manila to have Laurice's Hale CD signed (the same day)... I just hope natatandaan nila ako... I also felt happy kasi namukhaan pa ako ni Kuya Omnie when I had my CD signed during their Mayric's gig last June 8... They really are good people... Check (and buy) their album!

But upon knowing that Hale's got this title in their song, i think i found some kakampi in them. hehe... enjoy the lyrics!
